Nate Baumgart is a writer, producer and actor in Chicago. Nate has studied improv at UCB New York and in Chicago at the iO Theater, Comedysportz, The Annoyance Theater and Second City. He has studied voiceover with Jen Avery, Glenn Haynes and Deb Doetzer and on-camera with Matt Miller, Glenn Haines and with Sean Bradley and David Murphy at The Green Room. Nate has performed at the Playground Theater, iO Theater, Comedysportz and the Second City.
Nate was recently hired to be the voice of Chicago Ideas Week and a short he wrote and starred in won "Best of the Festival" at the Chicago Comedy Shorts Festival.
Nate runs Inside Joke Chicago a website devoted to providing the latest information on improv training, auditions and theory. He is currently writing a book on impovisation in Chicago.
Nate attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut where he performed improv with New Teen Force and was a featured performer at the Harvard Laugh Riot Improv Festival and the National College Comedy Festival at Skidmore.
Nate has worked as a carpenter's apprentice, a software salesman, a summer camp director and is a former Americorps and Peace Corps Volunteer. He used to speak fluent Kiswahili.
